Wow! Its already the last month of school. As I look back I can see so much growth in your children. I enjoyed visiting with you at parent teacher conferences and am thrilled to have so many kindergartners returning next year. Our new class will have a great advantage having such fine models in the classroom. We only have these last 3 weeks before school is out for summer break.
This month will be filled with fun fun fun! We are working around a theme for each week.

Farm Week:
We are studying a farm unit in science this month and have many activities for the children to choose. We will be making a farm scene to take home. As well as taking a field trip to the Chapmans mini farm on Thursday May 7. PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR PERMISSION SLIPS! & CAR SEATS!

Friendship Week:
We will be making a friendship puzzle for our craft. On Wednesday and Thursday May 13, 14 we invite the children to bring a fun game to play with their friends(candy land, elefun, twister etc.) We will have many games available also. This is always a very fun activity and gets the children involved in learning how to follow instructions take turns and practice various skills while working with others. We will also make a fun camp-cone snack.

Camp Cones

3 cans of fruit cocktail
1 container of cool whip
1 bag of mini marshmallows (colored ones are fun)

mix together and scoop into ice cream cones & enjoy!

Sunshine Week:
We will be enjoying outdoor games and activities, (sidewalk chalk, rock painting, relay races, ball and parachute games. water games. CHILDREN ARE INVITED TO WEAR SWIMSUITS UNDER CLOTHES.
On Wednesday May 20 we will end our class time with Kindergarten Graduation at 11:15 We would like to invite parents of graduating students (BROOKE and CALEB) to attend and take pictures if you would like to.

We will kick off the end of another school year with our annual PIONEER PARK PICNIC! on May 21 11:00-12:30. The Snowflake fire Department will be there to provide us with a shallow swimming pool, fire hose, and sprinklers for water play. So wear your suits and please bring your own drinks, towel, and park toys.
SUBWAY LUNCH will be provided for all who have signed up for a lunch!
Lunch includes: subway sandwich, chips, watermelon, and Popsicle.
REMEMBER: your whole family is invited!

Easter Fun

Kambria shows off her bunny bag! Each child made a bag and filled it with grass and died eggs and a jelly bean sorting activity and a prize from the Easter egg hunt. ( which we moved indoors because of the horrible wind)
When the children hear the clean up music they get started
on their job for the month right away.

Cooking Project- Easter Egg Sandwiches

Children crack and peel boiled eggs, after a thorough hand wash of course.
They loved doing this part and felt so capable.

Mrs. Merrill Spreading and Serving sandwiches. The children are so patient and join in a discussion about "trying new things" while they wait to be served.

Easy and delicious!

These are all the ingredients for Egg sandwiches: Boiled eggs, dill relish, chopped green onion, chopped celery, chopped parsley, mayonnaise, mustard, seasoned salt, bread.

Every child tried their sandwich and all but one loved it and even wanted more. I was so pleased that they were adventurous eaters!
I've noticed kids are a lot less picky when they help in the making process.
